Background

Dr Alison Soerensen is a specialist GP with an interest in maternal and infant health, breastfeeding and “the fourth trimester.” 

She is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a Diploma in Breastfeeding Management from the Australian Breastfeeding Association. 

Issues she can support families with include:

– Antenatal breastfeeding assessment and planning 
– Postnatal breastfeeding assessments and education regarding                    positioning and attachment 
– Nipple pain and trauma
–  Low supply
– Suboptimal infant growth 
– Supplementation
– Lactation induction
– Unsettled newborns
– Postnatal depression/anxiety
– Safe prescribing while breastfeeding
– Tandem breastfeeding 
– Weaning
– Infant Sleep

Her books are currently closed to new patients except for women/infants up to 12 months post-partum. If you have a breastfeeding related issue, please call and flag this with reception as she has reserved slots each day to facilitate timely review. 

 

Dr Soerensen is a private billing doctor. Children and health care card holders will be billed privately.
