Dr Ranjit Paul
MBBS Hons, FRACMA, FCHSM (CHE), MHM, MAICD
Background
Dr Paul was born in India, emigrated to England and then to Australia in 1988. A parochial West Australian, he undertook his school education and medical training in WA, graduated from UWA Medical School with honors in 2003 and has since delivered care in metropolitan, regional and rural sites across WA, NSW, SA and QLD (though resolutely supporting only WA sporting teams!).
Dr Paul is completing his GP Fellowship training, building upon a 20-year career with extensive experience in clinical medicine, patient safety, healthcare leadership and clinical governance. He is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the accredited training legacy of this general practice and recognises the importance of shared learning, support and mentoring of the current and next generation of GPs.
Aligned with the rest of the team at MMC, Dr Paul understands that healthcare exists in partnership with patients, their families, advocates and extended care teams. He is motivated to ensure that patients feel respected and heard; are provided timely and informed advice; and afforded safe, holistic care.
Supported by an understanding wife and two kind, respectful teenage sons (who are now taller than him!), Dr Paul enjoys watching sport of any kind, a good single malt (heavily peated), limited exercise, slightly obsessive gardening and walking Banjo – the family shoodle.
Dr Paul is a private billing doctor.
