Allergy Desensitisation
Allergy desensitisation injections can be administered at Murray Medical Centre for patients who have been assessed by an immunologist and commenced on a desensitisation program.
If your immunologist has determined that your treatment can continue in a general practice setting, desensitisation injections may be administered at Murray Medical Centre. Nursing staff are trained in the administration of desensitisation injections in accordance with the treatment protocol provided by your treating specialist.
To continue treatment at Murray Medical Centre, the following information is required:
• Confirmation that your initial injection was administered by your immunologist.
• Confirmation that you have been assessed as suitable to continue treatment in a general practice setting.
• A copy of your current desensitisation protocol from your treating immunologist.
Please note
• Allergy desensitisation injections are available to patients who are registered with MyMedicare and have a regular GP consulting at Murray Medical Centre.
• Requests from patients who do not have a regular GP consulting at Murray Medical Centre will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Private fees may apply.
• Before your first desensitisation injection at Murray Medical Centre, an appointment with your GP is required to review your treatment plan, confirm that all required documentation has been received, and determine that it is appropriate to continue treatment at the practice. The process for subsequent appointments will be discussed during this consultation.
